Year of the Nurse and Midwife – Set Mint

The Year of the Nurse and Midwife is a celebration of health care workers around the globe and the vital role they play within communities.

We are delighted to have worked alongside Catherine Quilliam, Director of Nursing, and Amanda Phillips, organiser of the Island’s Year of the Nurse and Midwife programme to create this eight stamp issue and pay tribute to each core health care sector and the hard working staff in our community.

2020 also marks the bicentennial anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, a revolutionary reformer of modern nursing. The stamps also feature Nelly Brennan, Esther Jane Bridson and Sarah Forester, all of whom who played an instrumental role in the evolution of nursing on the Island.
