Jersey – George VI, great grandson to Queen Victoria, came to the throne on 11 December 1936, following the abdication of his brother King Edward VIII. He reigned as King of the United Kingdom and the Dominions of the British Commonwealth until his death in 1952.

Six stamps form the fourth instalment in the series The Royal Legacy of Queen Victoria and feature photographs taken during the King’s reign.  Presented chronologically, they include an image of the King making his famous speech inaugurating the Empire Exhibition and another more relaxed image of the King perusing his stamp collection. The Miniature Sheet features a photograph of King George VI making a radio broadcast to the nation after the outbreak of World War II.
