Sweden – Gave a voice to Stockholm’s working class and impoverished

Per Anders Fogelström (1917–1998) came from a white collar family. He debuted as an author in the 1940s and is most known for his five-volume series about the working class and impoverished in Stockholm. You could say he became their voice. The first novel in the series, Mina drömmars stad (City of My Dreams), was published in 1960. The stamp motifs are inspired by this novel. Fogelström was strongly committed to peace and for many years served as the President of the Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society.
